【摘要】:General8212;Nopresentlyavailablethicknessgageisapplicabletoallcombinationsofcoating-substratethicknessesandmaterials.Thelimitationsofaparticularinstrumentaregenerallydelineatedbyitsmanufacturer.Magnetic8212;Magnetic-typegagesmeasureeithermagneticattractionbetweenamagnetandacoatingoritssubstrate,orreluctanceofamagneticfluxpathpassingthroughthecoatingandsubstrate.Thesegagesaredesignedtomeasurethicknessofanonmagneticcoatingonamagneticsubstrate.Someofthemwillalsomeasurethicknessofnickelcoatingsonamagneticornonmagneticsubstrate.5EddyCurrent8212;Eddy-current-typethicknessgagesareelectronicinstrumentsthatmeasurevariationsinimpedanceofaneddy-currentinducingcoilcausedbycoatingthicknessvariations.Theycanonlybeusediftheelectricalconductivityofthecoatingdifferssignificantlyfromthatofthesubstrate.1.1Thispracticecoverstheuseofmagnetic-andeddy-current-typethicknessinstruments(gages)fornondestructivethicknessmeasurementofacoatingonametalsubstrate.1.2MorespecificusesoftheseinstrumentsarecoveredbyPracticeD7091andthefollowingtestmethodsissuedbyASTM:TestMethodsB244,B499,B530,andG12.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Theinch-poundunitsinparenthesesareforinformationonlyandmaybeapproximate.1.4MeasurementsmadeinaccordancewiththispracticewillbeincompliancewiththerequirementsofISO2178asprintedin1982.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
