【摘要】:ThisdocumentdescribestheportionoftheNodePhysicalLayerthatinterfacestotheMediumAccessControl(MAC)SublayerandtoLayerSystemManagement(LSM).ThissublayeriscalledtheSymbolEncoding(SE)Sublayer.TheSESublayerprovidestwoprimaryfunctions:(1)Acceptssymboltransmissionrequests(PHCCDATA.requestserviceprimitive)fromtheMACSublayer,convertsthesymbolsintocorrectmediumstatechangetiming,andproducesrequests(MSTATE.request)forstatechangesonthephysicalmedium.Thisfunctionissymbolencoding.(2)Acceptsstatechangeindications(MSTATE.indicationserviceprimitive)fromtheControlChannelMediumDependentPhysical(MDP)Sublayer,convertsthetimebetweenstatechangestosymbols,andproducesindicationsofsymbolreception(PHCCDATA.indication)fortheMACSublayer.Thisfunctionissymboldecoding.
