【摘要】:Thisstandardspecifiestestmethodsfordeterminingthestrengthanddeformationcharacteristicsoflaterallyloadednailedjointsinload-bearingtimberstructures.Themethodsassessjointswithmembersoftimber-(solidtimberorgluedlaminatedtimber)orwood-basedproductsormetalplates(butnotpunchedmetalplatefasteners)inthecombinationproposedforuseinserviceusingalltypesofnails.Themethodsareusedtodetermineload-slipcharacteristicsandmaximumloadofjointswherevariousanglesbetweentheappliedforceandthetimbergraindirection,orthemaindirectionofthewood-basedproducts,respectively,arepossible.Themethodscanbeusedwithjointsmadewithotherdoweltypefasteners.Inthisevent,certaindetailsofthetestmayneedtobechanged.NOTEThedoweltypefastenersconsideredarescrews,boltsanddowels.Forthesetypesoffasteners,testsusingotherloadgrainanglesthanspecifiedinthisENmaybenecessary.
