【摘要】:Thetestmethodwasdevelopedfordeterminingthefractureresistanceofasphalt-aggregatemixtures.Thefractureresistancecanhelpdifferentiatemixtureswhoseservicelifemightbecompromisedbycracking.Thetestmethodisgenerallyvalidforspecimensthataretestedattemperaturesof10x00B0;C(50x00B0;F)orbelow(seeNote1).Thespecimengeometryisreadilyadaptedto150-mmdiameterspecimens,suchasfabricatedfromSuperpave(trademark)gyratorycompactors(TestMethodD6925),thatareusedfortheasphaltconcretedesignprocess.Thespecimengeometrycanalsobeadaptedforforensicinvestigationsusingfieldcoresofpavementswherethinliftsarepresent.Thisgeometryhasbeenfoundtoproducesatisfactoryresultsforasphaltmixtureswithnominalmaximumaggregatessizerangingfrom4.75to19mm.Note18212;Thestiffnessoftheasphaltbindertendstoinfluencetheassessmentofavalidtestasdescribedin7.4.Forinstanceasoftasphaltbinder,whichmayberequiredforaverycoldclimatemightnotleadtoamixturethatwouldproducevalidresultsat10x00B0;Candconversely,ahardasphaltbinderutilizedinhotclimatesmayrequirehighertemperaturestoprovideanymeaningfulinformation.Note28212;Thequalityoftheresultsproducedbythistestmethodaredependentonthecompetenceofthepersonnelperformingtheprocedureandthecapability,calibration,andmaintenanceoftheequipmentused.AgenciesthatmeetthecriteriaofSpecificationD3666aregenerallyconsideredcapableofcompetentandobjectivetesting/sampling/inspection/etc.UsersofthistestmethodarecautionedthatcompliancewithSpecificationD3666alonedoesnotcompletelyassurereliableresults.Reliableresultsmaydependonmanyfactors;followingthesuggestionsofSpecificationD3666orsomesimilaracceptableguidelinesprovidesameansofevaluatingandcontrollingsomeofthosefactors.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoffractureenergy(Gf)ofasphalt-aggregatemixturesusingthedisk-shapedcompacttensiongeometry.Thedisk-shapedcompacttensiongeometryisacircularspecimenwithasingleedgenotchloadedintension.Thefractureenergycanbeutilizedasaparametertodescribethefractureresistanceofasphaltconcrete.Thefractureenergyparameterisparticularlyusefulintheevaluationofmixtureswithductilebinders,suchaspolymer-modifiedasphaltconcrete,andhasbeenshowntodiscriminatebetweenthesematerialsmorebroadlythantheindirecttensilestrengthparameter(AASHTOT322,Wagoner).Thetestisgenerallyvalidattemperaturesof10x00B0;C(50x00B0;F)andbelow,orformaterialandtemperaturecombinationswhichproducevalidmaterialfracture,asoutlinedin7.4.1.2Thespecimengeometryandterminology(disk-shapedcompacttension,DC(T))ismodeledafterTestMethodE399forPlane-StrainFractureToughnessofMetallicMaterials,AppendixA6,withmodificationstoallowfracturetestingofasphaltconcrete.1.3Thetestmethoddescribesthetestingapparatus,instrumentation,specimenfabrication,andanalysisproceduresrequiredtodeterminefractureenergyofasphaltconcreteandsimilarquasi-brittlematerials.1.4ThestandardunitofmeasurementforfractureenergyisJoules/meter2(J/m2)[inch-pound/inch2(in.-lbf/in.2)].1.5Thetextofthistestmethodreferencesnotesandfootnoteswhi......
